Abstract
This study aims to analyze the impact of high-voltage exposure on the performance of a 30 Wp monocrystalline solar panel as a simulation of lightning strikes. The experiment involved two solar panels with identical specifications: one served as the test panel exposed to high-voltage stress, while the other was used as a reference without treatment. The testing was conducted at the High Voltage and Insulation Technology Laboratory IT PLN with ten voltage levels, namely 10 kV, 20 kV, 30 kV, 40 kV, 50 kV, 70 kV, 80 kV, 90 kV, and 95 kV, using a needle electrode positioned 7 cm from the panel surface. The observed parameters included load voltage (Vload), load current (Iload), output power (Pload), and efficiency. The results indicate that the tested panel experienced a significant performance degradation compared to the reference panel. The output power decreased from 27.11 W at 10 kV to 15.03 W at 95 kV, while efficiency dropped from 15.85% to 8.94%. It can be concluded that high-voltage exposure significantly reduces the electrical performance of solar panels, highlighting the need for reliable protection systems to ensure their operational reliability.
