Abstract

The increasing demand for electrical energy in Indonesia requires innovative, environmentally friendly, and sustainable solutions, one of which is the Hybrid Power Plant (PLTH) that combines solar and micro-hydro energy to generate electricity more stably and efficiently, making it suitable for remote areas without access to conventional power grids. This study evaluates the effects of solar radiation intensity and water flow on the performance of a PLTH system utilizing solar panels and micro-hydro technology, with measurements covering solar radiation intensity, water discharge, and the electrical power produced by each generator as well as the hybrid system. The results show that the solar power plant (PLTS) achieved an efficiency of 8.75%, while the micro-hydro system with a water discharge of 6.5 L/min produced 1.13 W with an efficiency of 10.62%; after integration, the hybrid system generated an average power output of 7.19 W, representing a 12.7% increase from the total average power before integration (6.38 W), with overall efficiency rising to 9.13%. These findings indicate that integrating solar panels and micro-hydro significantly enhances the power output and efficiency of the system, making PLTH a promising renewable energy solution for regions with limited electricity access.
