Abstract
The increase in the number of customers and the growing demand for electrical energy in Jayapura City have caused technical issues in the distribution system of PT. PLN (Persero) ULP Jayapura, namely overload, voltage drop, and load imbalance. This study aims to analyze three technical methods to address these issues, namely the calculation method for installing additional transformers, conductor uprating, and load balancing planning. The analysis results show that the installation of additional transformers in distribution substations JPR248 reduced the load to 68.47%, and in JPR302 reduced the transformer loading to 60.42%. Conductor uprating in substation JPR271 from 50 mm² to 70 mm² in the low-voltage network was able to reduce the percentage of voltage drop, with an average decrease from 1.66% to 0.57%. For load imbalance in substation JPR041, which was initially 17.94%, a balancing plan was carried out, and the calculation results showed that the imbalance value decreased to 3.41%, with phase R at +28.18 A, phase S at -2.62 A, and phase T at -25.42 A. Thus, the results of this study prove that the three methods are effective in improving the quality and reliability of the electricity distribution system.
