Abstract
This study aims to analyze the impact of load shedding on the Cicit Feeder in terms of voltage drop and power loss reduction. Based on the analysis results, before load shedding, the maximum load of the Cicit Feeder reached 271 A, which then decreased to 157.47 A after load shedding, while the load on the new feeder was recorded at 129.7 A. The voltage drop before load shedding was 6.38%, with an end voltage of 18.72 kV, but after load shedding, the voltage drop decreased to 2.37%, and the end voltage increased to 19.53 kV. The new feeder showed a voltage drop of 2% with an end voltage of 19.76 kV. This has met the tolerance limits for voltage drop in medium voltage networks, as per SPLN No. 72 of 1987, which sets the maximum allowable voltage drop in 20 kV distribution networks at 5% of the nominal operating voltage, equivalent to 1 kV. The power loss before load shedding was 342.85 kW (4.28%), which decreased to 84.266 kW (1.81%) after load shedding. Over the course of one year, the power loss in the Cicit Feeder amounted to 3,003,278.40 kWh, but after load shedding, the power loss was reduced to 738,170.16 kWh. Load shedding has proven to improve voltage quality and reduce power loss, while also facilitating fault investigation, thereby enhancing the reliability of the feeder system. Based on the calculations and simulations using PSS SINCAL, load shedding on the Cicit Feeder is a viable step to implement in order to improve the efficiency and performance of the electrical distribution system.
