Abstract

A challenge for cat owners who cannot provide food away from their pets. This research aims to design and develop an automatic cat feeder based on an ESP32 microcontroller integrated with Internet of Things (IoT) technology, Telegram Bot, and an RFID system. This tool is designed to provide food automatically through two operating modes: remote command via Telegram Bot with the /feed command and automatic detection via an RFID tag on the cat's collar. Tests were conducted to evaluate the accuracy of the weight sensor (loadcell), ultrasonic sensor, RFID system reliability, and IoT communication response. The test results showed that the tool is capable of providing food with high weight sensor accuracy (average error 1.96%-3.23%) and the RFID system works optimally at a distance of 1-6 cm with an angle of 10°-30°. Integration with Telegram Bot allows owners to monitor and control feeding in real-time with a communication success rate above 96.52%. Then, a task guide was created for cat owners to facilitate the use of the tool. Although this tool functions well, further development is still needed. This research provides a practical and efficient solution for cat owners in managing feeding automatically and remotely.
