Abstract
Setiap daerah di Indonesia memiliki kekayaan budaya yang unik, termasuk alat musik tradisional yang berfungsi sebagai identitas budaya yang harus diperkenalkan dan dilestarikan. Di Papua Pegunungan, alat musik tradisional memiliki nilai budaya yang tinggi, namun kurangnya promosi dan media edukasi menyebabkan banyak generasi muda tidak mengenal dan menghargai warisan budaya ini. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan teknologi Augmented Reality (AR) untuk menciptakan media interaktif yang memungkinkan pengguna berinteraksi dengan model 3D alat musik tradisional melalui perangkat mobile. Dengan metode Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) yang terdiri dari enam tahapan (concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, dan distribution), aplikasi ini dirancang untuk mengenalkan alat musik tradisional Papua Pegunungan. Hasilnya adalah sebuah aplikasi AR yang diharapkan dapat menjadi sarana edukasi dan promosi efektif, membantu memperkenalkan dan melestarikan alat musik tradisional Papua Pegunungan kepada masyarakat, terutama generasi muda.
Each region in Indonesia has a unique cultural wealth, including traditional musical instruments that function as a cultural identity that must be introduced and preserved. In Papua Mountains, traditional musical instruments have high cultural value, but the lack of promotion and educational media causes many young generations to not know and appreciate this cultural heritage. This study utilizes Augmented Reality (AR) technology to create interactive media that allows users to interact with 3D models of traditional musical instruments through mobile devices. With the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method consisting of six stages (concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution), this application is designed to introduce traditional musical instruments from Papua Mountains. The result is an AR application that is expected to be an effective means of education and promotion, helping to introduce and preserve traditional musical instruments from Papua Mountains to the public, especially the younger generation.
