Abstract
Tanah lunak memiliki daya dukung rendah dengan kekuatan geser yang lemah sehingga berpotensi menyebabkan kerusakan konstruksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui persentase optimum substitusi serbuk cangkang kerang 10% dan variasi fly ash untuk memperbaiki stabilitas tanah lunak. Pengujian dilakukan pada campuran tanah lunak dengan 10% serbuk cangkang kerang darah dan variasi fly ash 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% melalui uji karakteristik fisik, kuat tekan bebas, pemampatan tanah, dan CBR laboratorium. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persentase optimum pada campuran 10% serbuk cangkang kerang dengan 15% fly ash yang menghasilkan peningkatan CBR pada penetrasi 2,54 mm menjadi 35,84%, kuat tekan bebas 2,97 kg/cm², kuat geser 1,48 kg/cm², dan koefisien konsolidasi 0,0411 cm²/detik, serta perbaikan sifat fisik tanah. Kombinasi bahan ini terbukti efektif meningkatkan stabilitas tanah lunak dan dapat direkomendasikan untuk konstruksi tanah dasar.
Soft clay has low bearing capacity and weak shear strength, which can potentially lead to construction failures. This study aims to determine the optimum substitution percentage of 10% blood clam shell powder combined with varying proportions of fly ash to improve soft clay stability. Tests were conducted on soft clay mixtures containing 10% blood clam shell powder and fly ash at 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%, using physical property tests, unconfined compressive strength (UCS), consolidation, and laboratory California Bearing Ratio (CBR) tests. The results indicated that the optimum mixture was achieved with 10% blood clam shell powder and 15% fly ash, yielding an increase in CBR at 2.5 mm penetration to 35.84%, UCS of 2.97 kg/cm², shear strength of 1.48 kg/cm², a consolidation coefficient of 0.0411 cm²/s, and improved soil physical properties. This combination proved effective in enhancing the stability of soft clay and can be recommended for subgrade construction.
