Abstract
Pada penelitian mengenai karakteristik fisik dan mekanik agregat kasar buatan berbasis fly ash-geopolymer, tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi molaritas larutan NaOH terhadap berat jenis, porositas, daya serap air, kekuatan tekan mortar dan Agregat Block, ketahanan aus. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan jumlah sampel agregat yang disiapkan dalam empat kelompok, yaitu M8, M10, M12, dan M14 berdasarkan molaritas NaOH sebesar 8 M, 10 M, 12 M, dan 14 M. Proses pembuatan agregat dilakukan dengan mencampur fly ash dan larutan aktivator (NaOH + Na₂SiO₃) pada rasio tertentu, kemudian dilakukan curing pada suhu 60 °C selama 12 jam. Pengujian mencakup uji berat jenis, porositas, daya serap air, kuat tekan mortar (menggunakan benda uji kubus 5 × 5 × 5 cm), kuat tekan Agregat Block, keausan dengan metode Los Angeles Abrasion Test. Seluruh data hasil uji dianalisis secara deskriptif dan dibandingkan antar variasi untuk mengidentifikasi tren dan parameter optimum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa agregat dengan molaritas 10 M menghasilkan karakteristik terbaik, yaitu berat jenis tertinggi, kuat tekan block maksimum, dan keausan paling rendah. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa variasi molaritas NaOH berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kualitas agregat kasar buatan, dengan formulasi paling optimal terdapat pada molaritas 10 M.
This study investigates the physical and mechanical characteristics of artificial coarse aggregate based on fly ash-geopolymer, focusing on the effect of varying NaOH molarity. The main objective is to determine how different concentrations of NaOH (8 M, 10 M, 12 M, and 14 M) influence bulk density, porosity, water absorption, compressive strength of mortar and aggregate Block, as well as abrasion resistance. The aggregates were synthesized by mixing fly ash with an alkaline activator (NaOH + Na₂SiO₃) at a fixed ratio, followed by curing at 60°C for 12 hours. The tests conducted included measurements of specific gravity, porosity, water absorption, compressive strength (using 5 × 5 × 5 cm cube specimens for mortar), aggregate Block strength, and Los Angeles abrasion test. The data were analyzed descriptively to observe trends and identify optimal formulations. The results indicate that the aggregate with 10 M NaOH exhibited the best overall performance, with the highest density, maximum compressive strength for aggregate Blocks, and lowest abrasion value. It can be concluded that NaOH molarity significantly affects the quality of artificial coarse aggregates, with the optimal formulation found at 10 M concentration.
