Abstract
Tanah lempung memiliki sifat plastisitas tinggi, daya dukung rendah, dan potensi kembang susut yang besar sehingga kurang layak digunakan langsung sebagai tanah dasar konstruksi jalan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh substitusi serbuk cangkang telur (SCT) dan abu tandan sawit (ATS) terhadap sifat fisik dan mekanik tanah lempung, khususnya nilai California Bearing Ratio (CBR). Sampel tanah diambil dari proyek pembangunan Jalan Tol Ancol – Timur – Pluit, kemudian diuji dalam kondisi tanpa pemeraman dengan variasi campuran 12% SCT dan ATS sebesar 3%, 6%, 9%, 12%, dan 15%. Pengujian meliputi kadar air, berat jenis, batas Atterberg, analisis gradasi, dan CBR laboratorium rendaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan SCT dan ATS dapat memperbaiki karakteristik fisik tanah, menurunkan plastisitas, serta meningkatkan nilai CBR dibandingkan tanah asli. Nilai CBR optimum diperoleh pada penetrasi 2.5 mm dengan campuran 12% SCT dan 15% ATS yaitu 24.2414%, yang memberikan peningkatan signifikan terhadap daya dukung tanah. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa kombinasi SCT dan ATS berpotensi sebagai bahan stabilisasi tanah lempung yang ramah lingkungan sekaligus memanfaatkan limbah organik.
Clay soils have high plasticity, low bearing capacity, and significant swelling-shrinkage potential, making them unsuitable for direct use as subgrade material in road construction. This study aims to determine the effect of substituting eggshell powder (SCT) and palm oil empty fruit bunch ash (ATS) on the physical and mechanical properties of clay soil, particularly the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) value. Soil samples were taken from the Ancol–East–Pluit Toll Road construction project and tested without curing, using a constant SCT content of 12% and ATS variations of 3%, 6%, 9%, 12%, and 15%. Tests included moisture content, specific gravity, Atterberg limits, grain size analysis, and soaked laboratory CBR. The results showed that adding SCT and ATS improved the soil’s physical characteristics, reduced plasticity, and increased the CBR value compared to natural soil. The optimum CBR value was obtained at 2.5 mm penetration with a mixture of 12% SCT and 15% ATS, reaching 24.2414%, which represents a significant improvement in soil bearing capacity. These findings demonstrate that the combination of SCT and ATS has potential as an environmentally friendly clay soil stabilizing agent while utilizing organic waste.
