Manajemen aset yang tepat penting untuk dilakukan sebuah perusahaan karena
dapat membantu perusahaan untuk mengurangi biaya operasional, mengurangi biaya
modal, meningkatkan kinerja operasi aset, mengurangi resiko keamanan dari
pengoperasian aset, hingga meningkatkan kinerja dari sebuah perusahaan. Proses saat ini
juga dinilai berbahaya dikarenakan rentannya dokumen spreadsheet dengan virus
membuat perusahaan sering kehilangan data aset lama atau terbaru serta dokumen
spreadsheet pun juga rentan jatuh kepada orang selain penanggung jawab yang beresiko
membuat kebocoran data yang cukup fatal. Dan karena beratnya penggunaan dokumen
spreadsheet yang memiliki banyak data membuat proses penelusuran hingga pengelolaan
data menjadi sulit serta memakan banyak waktu dan tenaga. Dengan segala keterbatasan
proses manajemen aset yang sedang berjalan ini membuat banyaknya aset TI sulit
ditelusuri hingga diidentifikasi, bahkan hilang dan tidak terpelihara. Dan karena
keterbatasan dari proses yang sedang berjalan saat ini juga membuat tahap pendukungan
aset seperti penjadwalan dan pemeliharaan menjadi sulit untuk dilakukan dengan tepat.
Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian penulis adalah metode User Centered Design
Proses dalam membangun aplikasi digunakan suatu metode pengembangan sistem yaitu
metode User Centered Design dimana pada metode ini terdapat 5 tahapan yaitu, plan the
human centered process, yang terdiri dari studi literatur, wawancara, analisis sistem
berjalan, analisis sistem usulan. Specify the context of use, specify user and
organizational requirement, produce design solution, dan evaluate designs user
requirement. Setelah proses User Centered Design berakhir maka selanjutnya dilakukan
proses system design yang berisikan perancangan UML dan Basis Data. Selanjutnya
setelah proses system design adalah proses implementation and unit testing yaitu proses
pengkodean menggunakan Bahasa pemrograman PHP dan HTML. Dan tahap terakhir
merupakan tahapan pengujian fungsi dari aplikasi dengan menggunakan metode
pengujian blackbox. maka hasil yang didapatkan setelah penelitian adalah sebuah aplikasi
manajemen aset teknologi informasi yang dibangun untuk membantu divisi Sistem dan
Teknologi Informasi (STI) pada PT PLN (Persero) UIW Sumatera Utara dalam
melakukan salah satu tugasnya, yaitu memanajemen aset teknologi informasi, mulai dari
penghapusan, pembaharuan, penjadwalan, hingga pemeliharaan. Dengan adanya aplikasi
tersebut, pegawai tidak perlu menggunakan dokumen spreadsheet dan mencari file
tersebut terlebih dahulu, dan petugas dapat melihat jadwal dengan mudah.

Proper asset management is important for a company because it can help companies
reduce operational costs, reduce capital costs, improve asset operating performance,
reduce security risks from operating assets, to improve the performance of a company.
The current process is also considered dangerous because the vulnerability of spreadsheet
documents with viruses makes companies often lose old or newest asset data and
spreadsheet documents are also vulnerable to falling to people other than those in charge
who are at risk of making data leaks that are quite fatal. And because of the heavy use of
spreadsheet documents that have a lot of data, it makes the process of searching to
managing data difficult and takes a lot of time and effort. With all the limitations of the
ongoing asset management process, many IT assets are difficult to trace until they are
identified, even lost and not maintained. And because of the limitations of the ongoing
process it also makes asset support stages such as scheduling and maintenance difficult
to do properly. The method used in the author's research is the User Centered Design
method. The process in building the application uses a system development method,
namely the User Centered Design method where in this method there are 5 stages, namely,
plan the human centered process, which consists of literature study, interviews, system
analysis running, analysis of the proposed system. Specify the context of use, specify user
and organizational requirements, produce design solutions, and evaluate user
requirements designs. After the User Centered Design process ends, then the system
design process is carried out which contains the UML and Database design. Next, after
the system design process is the implementation and unit testing process, namely the
coding process using the PHP and HTML programming languages. And the last stage is
the stage of testing the function of the application using the blackbox testing method. then
the results obtained after the research is an information technology asset management
application that was built to help the Information Technology and Systems (STI) division
at PT PLN (Persero) UIW North Sumatra in carrying out one of its duties, namely
managing information technology assets, starting from deletion, updating, scheduling, to
maintenance. With this application, employees do not need to use spreadsheet documents
and search for the file first, and officers can view schedules easily.
