Information Technology Certification Center (ITCC) is one of the laboratories devoted to carrying out Certification activities, especially in the field of Information and
Technology. Based on the results of observations made by the author at ITCC, the sistem of creating letter numbers is still manual with the help of Microsoft Office Excel. So it
often takes a long time in the creation of letter numbers. In addition, because storage is not integrated into one place, there is often a loss of data needed to support activities. In developing this letter archive application, the author uses the Rapid Application Development (RAD) model, which is a model that includes a development method and software with the aim of shortening the time usually required in the life cycle of traditional sistem development between the design and application of an information sistem. The Rapid Application Development (RAD) model itself is a model that is a "high-speed" adaptation of the waterfall model. So, this model provides development in a fast way with software that has incremental or growing versions. The conclusion obtained in making this application is that it can help in making numbers and storing mail archives more
secure. In addition, the mail archive application also applies what you see is what you get (wysiwyg) which helps in document editing.

Information Technology Certification Center (ITCC) merupakan salah satu laboratorium yang dikhususkan untuk melaksanakan kegiatan Sertifikasi, khususnya dibidang Informasi dan Teknologi. Berdasarkan hasil observasi yang penulis lakukan di ITCC, sistem pembuatan nomor surat masih manual dengan bantuan microsoft office excel. Sehingga seringkali memakan waktu yang lama dalam pembuatan nomor surat. Selain itu
karena penyimpanan tidak terintegrasi ke satu tempat, maka sering kali terjadi kehilangan data yang dibutuhkan untuk mendukung kegiatan. Dalam pengembangan aplikasi arsip
surat ini, penulis menggunakan model Rapid Application Development (RAD) yakni model mencakup suatu metode pengembangan serta perangkat-perangkat lunak dengan
tujuan mempersingkat waktu yang biasanya diperlukan dalam siklus hidup pengembangan sistem tradisional antara perancangan dan penerapan suatu sistem informasi. Model Rapid Application Development (RAD) sendiri merupakan model yang sebuah adaptasi “kecepatan tinggi” dari model waterfall. Sehingga model ini memberikan pengembangan dengan cara cepat dengan perangkat lunak yang memiliki versi increment atau terus bertambah. Kesimpulan yang didapat dalam pembuatan aplikasi ini yakni dapat membantu dalam pembuatan nomor dan penyimpanan arsip surat menjadi lebih aman. Selain itu, aplikasi arsip surat juga menerapkan what you see is what you get (wysiwyg) yang membantu dalam pengeditan dokumen.
