Abstract
Lampu jalan memiliki peran krusial dalam keselamatan dan kenyamanan pengguna jalan, namun konsumsi daya listriknya yang tinggi menimbulkan tantangan dalam pengelolaan energi. Penelitian ini menganalisis dan membandingkan efektivitas metode Complete linkage dan Single linkage dalam pengelompokan konsumsi daya listrik lampu jalan menggunakan pendekatan Minkowski distance dalam kerangka Hierarchical Clustering. Seluruh analisis data dan pemodelan dilakukan menggunakan Python, meliputi persiapan, pembersihan, dan normalisasi fitur power_consumption(Watts) dan timestamp. Silhouette score dan Davies- Bouldin Index (DBI) digunakan untuk mengevaluasi kualitas klaster, didukung oleh visualisasi dendrogram dan scatter plot. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa Complete linkage menghasilkan klaster yang lebih stabil, kompak, dan seimbang, dengan Silhouette score konsisten positif (puncak k=4 pada 0.59) dan DBI yang lebih rendah (optimal k=5 pada 0.54), sementara Single linkage cenderung menghasilkan klaster yang kurang kompak, sangat tidak seimbang, dan sensitif terhadap outlier akibat "efek rantai", dengan skor evaluasi yang jauh lebih buruk. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan penting bagi strategi efisiensi energi dan pengurangan biaya operasional, serta diharapkan dapat mendukung kebijakan pemerintah dalam manajemen konsumsi listrik nasional dan penelitian selanjutnya, menegaskan bahwa pemilihan metode linkage yang tepat sangat bergantung pada tujuan analisis spesifik.
Streetlights play a crucial role in the safety and comfort of road users, but their high electrical Power Consumption poses challenges in energy management. This study analyzes and compares the effectiveness of the Complete linkage and Single linkage methods in clustering the electric Power Consumption of streetlights using the Minkowski distance approach within a Hierarchical Clustering framework. All data analysis and modeling were performed using Python, including preparation, cleaning, and normalization of power_consumption(Watts) and timestamp features. Silhouette score and Davies-Bouldin Index (DBI) were used to evaluate cluster quality, supported by dendrogram and scatter plot visualizations. The results show that Complete linkage produces more stable, compact, and balanced clusters, with a consistently positive Silhouette score (peak k=4 at 0.59) and lower DBI (optimal k=5 at 0.54), while Single linkage tends to produce clusters that are less meaningful, highly unbalanced, and sensitive to outliers due to the “chain effect”, with significantly worse evaluation scores. The findings provide important insights for energy efficiency strategies and operational cost reduction, and are expected to support government policies in national electricity consumption management and future research, confirming that the selection of an appropriate linkage method is highly dependent on the specific analysis Objectives.
