Abstract

Suku Biak di Papua memiliki warisan budaya yang kaya, salah satunya seni ukir tradisional yang sarat nilai filosofis dan kultural. Namun, modernisasi menyebabkan minat generasi muda terhadap seni ukir semakin menurun. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan mengembangkan aplikasi Augmented Reality (AR) sebagai media interaktif untuk memperkenalkan seni ukir tradisional Suku Biak. Metode yang digunakan adalah Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) dengan tahapan concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, dan distribution. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi UBAR (Ukiran Biak Augmented Reality) mampu menampilkan objek 3D dari ukiran Korwar, Tifa, Perahu Wairon, dan Mansusu Kubur melalui pemindaian marker. Metode yang digunakan adalah Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) dengan tahapan concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, dan distribution. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi UBAR (Ukiran Biak Augmented Reality) mampu menampilkan objek 3D dari ukiran Korwar, Tifa, Perahu Wairon, dan Mansusu Kubur melalui pemindaian marker. Uji coba aplikasi menunjukkan bahwa UBAR mudah digunakan, memiliki tampilan sesuai nuansa budaya, dan meningkatkan pemahaman pengguna terhadap seni ukir Biak. Dengan demikian, penerapan AR terbukti dapat menjadi solusi inovatif dalam melestarikan dan menyebarluaskan warisan budaya lokal secara menarik dan interaktif

The Biak Tribe in Papua possesses a rich cultural heritage, one of which is traditional carving art imbued with deep philosophical and cultural values. However, modernization has led to a decline in interest among the younger generation towards this art form. This study aims to design and develop an Augmented Reality (AR) application as an interactive medium to introduce the traditional carving art of the Biak Tribe. The method used is the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC), with its stages including concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution. The research results indicate that the UBAR (Ukiran Biak Augmented Reality) application is capable of displaying 3D objects of Korwar, Tifa, Wairon Boat, and Mansusu Kubur carvings through marker scanning. Application trials show that UBAR is user-friendly, features a culturally-appropriate interface, and enhances user understanding of Biak carving art. Thus, the application of AR is proven to be an innovative solution for preserving and disseminating local cultural heritage in an engaging and interactive manner.
