The Informatics Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Energy Telematics, PLN Institute of Technology, offers elective courses in high semesters, namely between the sixth and seventh semesters, with various advantages making it difficult for students to make choices that suit their interests and values. Accordingly, more and more concentrations of majors are offered as alternative choices. Namely Software Developer, Intelligence System Developer, and Data Scientist. In connection with these problems, a Decision Support System for the concentration of majors was designed so that students can make the right choice of elective courses in accordance with the interests and grades they have acquired during semesters 1 to 5. The method used for the Decision Support System for the Institute of Informatics Engineering major concentration PLN's technology is to use the Technique Order Preference by Similarity To Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method. This method was chosen because it is able to choose the best alternative from a number of alternatives, in this case the alternative in question is the best concentration based on the specified criteria. The results of the process of implementing the TOPSIS method can sort alternatives from the largest value to the smallest value, so that elective courses are produced as solutions and suggestions for decision making.

Program Studi Teknik Informatika Fakultas Telematika Energi Institut TEKNOLOGI PLN menawarkan mata kuliah pilihan pada semester tinggi yaitu antara semester enam dan tujuh dengan beragam keunggulannya membuat mahasiswa menjadi kesulitan dalam menentukan pilihan yang sesuai dengan minat dan nilai mereka. Sejalan dengan itu semakin banyak pula konsentrasi yang ditawarkan sebagai alternatif pilihan. Yaitu Software Developer, Intelligence System Developer, dan Data Scientist. Sehubungan dengan permasalahan tersebut, maka dirancanglah sebuah Sistem Pendukung Keputusan konsentrasi penjurusan agar mahasiswa dapat menentukan pilihan mata kuliah pilihan dengan tepat sesuai dengan minat dan nilai yang telah mereka dapati Ketika semester 1 hingga 5. Metode yang digunakan untuk Sistem Pendukung Keputusan konsentrasi penjurusan Teknik Informatika Institut Teknologi PLN adalah dengan menggunakan metode Technique Order Preference by Similarity To Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). Metode ini dipilih karena mampu memilih alternatif terbaik dari sejumlah alternatif, dalam hal ini alternatif yang dimaksud adalah konsentrasi terbaik berdasarkan kriteria-kriteria yang ditentukan.
