Abstract

Studi ini mengkaji efektivitas Closed Cooling Water Heat Exchanger pada blok 2 PLTGU
Muara Karang, yang merupakan tipe air cooler. Data yang dikumpulkan selama dua
periode menunjukkan variabel kunci seperti perbedaan suhu (Th1, Th2, Tc1), kapasitas
(Ch, Cmin, Cc), dan area permukaan (As). Analisis dilakukan pada parameter efektivitas
termal seperti Log Mean Temperature Difference (LMTD), Qmax, dan Qact. Perubahan
nilai efektivitas, yang tercermin dalam data suhu 38,155℃, 38,665℃, 39,225℃, 39,665
℃, diamati pada kedua periode, menunjukkan variabilitas dalam kondisi operasional
sistem. Efektivitas dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor seperti LMTD dan fouling factor.
Peningkatan nilai LMTD berkontribusi pada peningkatan efektivitas, sementara
peningkatan nilai fouling factor berdampak negatif pada efektivitas penukar panas.
Analisis ini memberikan wawasan tentang faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi kinerja
Closed Cooling Water Heat Exchanger, yang dapat menjadi landasan untuk pemeliharaan
dan peningkatan efisiensi sistem di masa depan. Kesimpulannya, pemantauan terus
menerus terhadap LMTD dan penanganan fouling factor yang efektif sangat penting
untuk menjaga kinerja optimal penukar panas.
This study examines the effectiveness of the Closed Cooling Water Heat Exchanger in
block 2 of Muara Karang PLTGU, which is a type of air cooler. Data collected over the
two periods showed key variables such as temperature difference (Th1, Th2, Tc1),
capacity (Ch, Cmin, Cc), and surface area (As). Analysis was performed on thermal
effectiveness parameters such as Log Mean Temperature Difference (LMTD), Qmax, and
Qact. Changes in the effectiveness values, reflected in the data of temperature
38,155℃, 38,665℃, 39,225 ℃, 39,665 ℃, observed in both periods, indicate variability
in the operational state of the system. Effectiveness is influenced by factors such as LMTD
and fouling factors. An increase in the LMTD value contributes to an increase in
effectiveness, while an increase in the fouling factor value negatively affects the
effectiveness of the heat exchanger. This analysis provides insight into the factors that
affect the performance of the Closed Cooling Water Heat Exchanger, which can be the
foundation for future system maintenance and efficiency improvements. In conclusion,
