Abstract

The existence of an international event in Lombok has an impact on the increase in the need for electricity loads, so it is necessary to optimize the performance of the generator unit 5 PLTD Ampenan. The Ampenan PLTD consists of 8 units, and only 5 units can be optimized for performance, considering that there are generators that cannot work (unit 1) and others cannot be optimized. The method used is to optimize the performance of the generator unit 5, the rest is done by the efficiency of the generator's performance. To determine the efficiency of the generator due to changes in load, a study was conducted at the Diesel Power Plant (PLTD) PT. PLN (Persero) UPK Ampenan Lombok. The calculation is done by taking data from the generator unit 5 PLTD Ampenan, with a research time of 1 week in 2 peak load times. The results of data analysis, the generator loading value is inversely proportional to the generator optimization value. When the generator optimization is at the highest value, amounting to 93.394%, the load is 2.866,470 kW and when the generator optimization is at the lowest value, at 88.886% the load suspended by the generator is 3,718.664 kW. It can be concluded that load fluctuations affect the optimization of generator performance and are inversely proportional, and the lowest decrease in optimization due to load fluctuations of 4.508% for peak load times during the day and 2.714% for peak load times at night (~2-5%), can still be said to be reasonable (changes are not significant (<20%)) and the generator is still feasible to use.
