Sistem proteksi atau keamanan bertujuan untuk melindungi sistem tenaga listrik dari gangguan listrik dengan memisahkan bagian yang terganggu dari yang tidak terganggu, sehingga bagian yang tidak terganggu tetap dapat beroperasi. Secara prinsip, proteksi sistem tenaga listrik bertujuan untuk memastikan keseluruhan sistem dapat berfungsi secara andal. Koordinasi sistem proteksi adalah sistem yang melibatkan kerja sama antara berbagai perangkat proteksi untuk melindungi jaringan distribusi listrik. Keandalan sistem tenaga listrik diperoleh melalui koordinasi proteksi dalam sistem pengaman. Dalam penelitian ini, perangkat proteksi yang digunakan adalah Phase Failure Relay (PFR). PFR berfungsi sebagai kontrol proteksi untuk melindungi dari kondisi tegangan yang tidak efisien, seperti kehilangan satu fasa, dua fasa, atau tiga fasa. Serta mengamankan dari keadaan Under Voltage maupun Over Voltage.

Protection or security systems aim to safeguard electrical power systems from disturbances by isolating the affected parts from the unaffected ones, thereby allowing the unaffected parts to continue operating. In principle, the protection system of electrical power systems aims to ensure the entire system functions reliably. System protection coordination involves the cooperation of various protection devices to safeguard the electrical distribution network. The reliability of the electrical power system is achieved through protection coordination in the safety system. In this study, the protection device used is the Phase Failure Relay (PFR). PFR functions as a protective control to safeguard against inefficient voltage conditions, such as single-phase, two-phase, or three-phase loss, as well as securing against Under Voltage and Over Voltage conditions.
