Dalam belajar algoritma pemograman menghafal rumus bukanlah suatu cara yang tepat, tetapi dibutuhkan suatu logika yang baik agar dapat menyelesaikan masalah secara sistematis dan logis seperti memahami tentang dasar – dasar algoritma.Tujuan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengkaji kesulitan mahasiswa yang ditinjau dari isi materi, metode pengajaran dan metode evaluasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh mahasiswa Angkatan 2016 Jurusan Teknik Informatika STT PLN.Penentuan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis memiliki kriteria tertentu untuk dijadikan sebagai sampel. Kriteria tersebut adalah mahasiswa yang memiliki nilai ujian yang tergolong rendah. Hasil pengujian One Way ANOVA didapat nilai F hitung > F tabel yaitu 27,987> 3,960 maka Ho dapat dismpulkan bahwa H0 ditolak sedangkan H1 diterima yang berarti terdapat pegaruh Kompetensi Dosen secara simulltan terhadap Pengetahuan Mahasiswa. Kesulitan mahasiswa yang ditinjau dari isi materi sebesar 27,6 % dengan kesulitan terbesar pada materi array dan fungsi sebesar 24,21%. Kesulitan dalam metode pengajaran yaitu pada model pengajaran demonstrasi sebesar 12,35 %. Kesulitan mahasiswa dalam metode evaluasi yaitu dengan metode partisipasi sebesar 12,35 % . Maka kesulitan mahasiswa STT PLN angkatan 2016 yang paling besar ialah pada isi materinya.

In learning algorithm programming memorize the formula is not a proper way, but it takes a good logic in order to solve problems systematically and logically as understanding the basics of the algorithm.The purpose of this study was to examine student difficulties in terms of material content, teaching methods and evaluation methods. Population in this research is all student of 2016, Department of Informatics STT PLN.Sample determination was done by purposive sampling technique. In this study, the authors have certain criteria to be used as a sample. These criteria are students who have low test scores (UTS and UAS). One Way ANOVA test results obtained F count> F table that is 27.987> 3.960 then Ho can dismpulkan that H0 rejected while H1 accepted which means there is influence Lecturer Competence simulltan to Knowledge Students. Student difficulties viewed from the content of the material of 27.6% with the greatest difficulty in the array material and the function of 24.21%. Difficulty in teaching method that is on demonstration teaching model equal to 12,35%. Difficulties of students in the method of evaluation is by participation method of 12.35%. So the difficulties of students of STN PLN 2016 is the largest is the content of the material.
