Abstract
Berdasarkan Peraturan Menteri Lingkungan Hidup No. 30 Tahun 2009, abu yang dihasilkan oleh proses pembakaran dari boiler dikategorikan sebagai Bahan Berbahaya dan Beracun. Electrostatic Precipitator dapat mengendapkan abu tersebut agar tidak mencemari lingkungan. Agar dapat bekerja dengan baik, perlu diperhatikan jarak sela antara Collecting Plate dengan Emitting Wire agar tidak terjadi sparking dan plate bending. Skripsi ini membahas standarisasi tegangan operasi dan jarak sela dari Electrostatic Precipitator. Dari analisis perhitungan diketahui bahwa pada tegangan operasi 55kV dan jarak sela 12 cm akan dihasilkan kuat medan korona sebesar 27kV yang merupakan kuat medan produktif korona sehingga Electrostatic Precipitator dapat bekerja dengan optimal. Jarak sela tidak boleh ≤ 4 cm agar tidak terjadi sparking. Agar jarak sela yang aman dapat terjaga ditambahkan chain diantara Collecting Plate dan Emitting Wire atau dapat menggunakan proteksi level high yang dilengkapi self cleaning.
Based on the Regulation of the Minister of Environment No. 30 Year 2009, the ashes produced by the combustion process from the boiler are categorized as Hazardous and Toxic Substances. Electrostatic Precipitator can precipitate the ash so as not to pollute the environment. In order to work well, keep in mind the distance between Collecting Plate with Emitting Wire to avoid sparking and plate bending. This thesis discusses the standardization of operating voltages and spacing of the Electrostatic Precipitator. From the calculation analysis is known that the operating voltage of 55kV and 12 cm spacing will produce a strong corona field of 27kV which is a coronal productive field so that the Electrostatic Precipitator can work optimally. The distance should not be ≤ 4 cm in order to avoid sparking. In order to secure a safe distance can be added chain between Collecting Plate and Emitting Wire or can use high level protection that has self cleaning.
