Abstract

Banyaknya pembangunan yang dilakukan pada masa sekarang ini membuat begitu banyak tempat menjadi lebih sempit, dengan keadaan seperti ini maka akan mempersulit bagi penyandang tunanetra dalam beraktifitas. Untuk membantu meringankan aktivitas dan meningkatkan mobilitas para penyandang tunanetra maka dirancang sebuah alat dalam bentuk sarung tangan berbasis mikrokontroler arduino uno dengan sensor dan tambahan GPS yang dapat mendetaksi objek penghalang di sekitar penyandang tunanetra. Alat ini juga dilengkapi dengan system pelacak GPS yang akan membantu keluarga dari tunanetra untuk mengetahui lokasi keberadaan penyandang tunanetra saat mamakai sarung tangan ini, dimana keluarga hanya perlu mengirimkan SMS ke nomor kartu yang telah disematkan pada sarung tangan ini yang kemudian akan mendapatkan balasan berupa lokasi dari penyandang tunanetra. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa sensor bekerja dengan baik, dan GPS memerlukan lokasi yang tepat seperti diluar ruangan untuk menerima sinyal lebih mudah.

The many developments carried out in the present make so many places narrower, with these conditions it will make it difficult for blind people in their activities. To help alleviate the activity and increase the mobility of blind people, a device in the form of an Arduino Uno microcontroller is designed with sensors and GPS enhancements that can detect objects of obstruction around blind people. This tool is also equipped with a GPS tracking system that will help families of blind people to find out the location of blind persons when wearing these gloves, where families only need to send an SMS to the number of cards pinned on this glove which will then get a reply from blind people. The results of this study indicate that the sensor works well, and GPS requires the right location such as outside the room to receive signals more easily.
