Operasi sistem distribusi tenaga listrik menjadi bagian dari sistem operasi tenaga listrik yang paling dekat dengan beban. Tegangan disetiap titik beban sepanjang saluran harus memenuhi standar tegangan. Sesuai dengan SPLN 01 :1995 tegangan untuk sistem distribusi dibatasi yakni +5% dan -10% dari tegangan nominalnya. Pada Penyulang Herlina terjadi jatuh tegangan yang melebihi batas standar yakni sebesar 25,8% dari tegangan nominal. Pada skripsi ini dalam mengatasi jatuh tegangan pada Penyulang Herlina dilakukan pecah beban dan pemasangan kapasitor. Simulasi menggunakan software dan diperoleh hasil setelah pecah beban jatuh tegangan Penyulang Herlina sebesar 14,3% dari tegangan nominal. Setelah penambahan 2x400 kVar kapasitor pada Penyulang Herlina diperoleh jatuh tegangan sebesar 9,8% dari tegangan nominal.
