Abstract

Jumlah emisi gas buang dari peningkatan konsumsi batubara akibat meningkatnya kebutuhan energi listrik akan berdampak pada kualitas udara disekitar kegiatan pembangkit listrik. Electrostatic Precipitator (EP) adalah suatu perangkat listrik yang digunakan sebagai penyaring abu terbang (fly ash) yang dihasilkan dari pembakaran bahan bakar batubara pada ruang bakar (burner). Dengan menggunakan Electrostatic Precipitator jumlah limbah debu yang keluar dari cerobong bisa berkurang hingga 95 – 99 %. Komponen-komponen utama Electrostatic Precipitator terdiri dari : Transformator Rectifier, Collecting Plate, Electroda Wire, Collecting Rapper Motor, Discharge Rapper Motor, Gas Distributiion System, Control Power, Level EP Switch Hopper, Vibrator dan EP Heater Hopper. Untuk melakukan fungsinya, EP mendapat suplai listrik dari unit transformator dengan daya 40 kV – 70 kV. EP merupakan suatu tolak ukur dalam lingkungan dimana gas buang yang ditimbulkan PLTU bias diamati, oleh karena itu dibutuhkan tingkat maintenance yang intensif supaya efisiensi Electrostatic Precipitator dapat terwujud dengan maksimal.

The amount of exhaust emissions from the increased consumption of coal, resulting from the increased demand for electrical energy, will have an impact on air quality in the area around the power plant. Electrostatic Precipitator (EP) is an electrical device used as a filter for fly ash produced from the combustion of coal fuel in the combustion chamber (burner). By using Electrostatic Precipitator, the amount of dust waste coming out of the chimney can be reduced to 95 – 99%. The main components of Electrostatic Precipitator are: Transformer Rectifier, Collecting Plate, Electrode Wire, Collecting Rapper Motor, Discharge Rapper Motor, Gas Distribution System, Control Power, Level EP Switch Hopper, Vibrator and EP Heater Hopper. To perform its function, the EP receives power supply from a transformer unit with a power of 40 kV – 70 kV. EP is a benchmark in the environment where the flue gas generated by PLTU can be observed. Therefore, it needs an intensive level so that the efficiency of Electrostatic Precipitator can be realized maximally.
