Tempat parkir merupakan tempat vital untuk memarkirkan kendaraan. Namun tempat parkir yang ada sekarang kurang efektif. Kurang efektif disini yaitu pengguna parkir di gedung bertingkat masih mencari-cari tempat parkir yang kosong untuk memarkirkan kendaraan. Hal tersebut membuat pengguna parkir membuang-buang waktu hanya untuk mencari tempat parkir. Hal ini mendorong penulis melakukan penelitian dalam merancang sebuah sistem kontrol parkir gedung bertingkat yang lebih baik lagi. Pembuatan rancang bangun prototipe manajemen sistem kontrol parkir gedung bertingkat ini menggunakan sensor infra merah. Data dari sensor yang terdeteksi tersebut akan diproses oleh arduino dan hasilnya akan ditampilkan oleh LCD. Hasil pengujian yang dilakukan pada prototipe bahwa sistem bekerja dengan baik untuk memberikan informasi lokasi tempat parkir kosong atau terisi. Prototipe ini dapat digunakan disemua tempat seperti dihotel, swayalan, kantor dan tempat lainnya.

Parking lot is a vital area in providing a space for vehicles. But, parking lot nowadays are less effective, meaning that. Means parking users at multi storey buildings are still looking for empty lots to park their vehicles. This creates a waste of time, only to find available lots. This matter encourages the author to do a research on designing a better parking control system of multi storey building. Making a prototype design of parking control system management of this multi storey building utilizes infrared sensor. Data detected from that sensor will be processed by arduino and the result will be be shown on an LCD. The test result which was done on the prototype is to ensure that the system works well to provide information of empty or occupied parking lot locations. This prototype can be used in places such as hotels, markets, offices and many other places.
