Circuit Breaker (CB) atau Pemutus Tenaga (PMT) merupakan sistem proteksi tenaga listrik, yang mampu menutup, mengalirkan dan memutus arus beban dalam kondisi normal serta mampu menutup, mengalirkan (dalam periode waktu tertentu) dan memutus arus beban dalam spesifik kondisi abnormal atau gangguan seperti kondisi hubung singkat (short circuit).Dalam memutus arus gangguan, PMT bekerja sesuai dengan kapasitas dalam memutus arus gangguan. Arus gangguan yang terjadi tidak boleh lebih besar dari kapasitas PMT.. Beberapa jenis atau macam gangguan hubung singkat pada sistem tenaga listrik dapat terjadi antara fasa (3 fasa atau 2 fasa) atau antara fasa dan tanah. Pada skripsi ini membahas tentang kajian penentuan spesifikasi pemutus tenaga (PMT) pada IBT 1 500 kV yang akan di bangun di GI Duri kosambi.
