Tujuan penelitian ini membuat sistem pakar yang dapat memproses dan mengambil kesimpulan yang tepat untuk pendukung keputusan dalam menentukan diagnosa kegagalan jaringan komputer dengan menggunakan metode dempster-shafer. Karena pada sistem saat ini yang ada pada PT. PLN (PERSERO) UPT Cirebon masih belum ada sistem untuk mendukung keputusan dalam penanganan masalah ketika mengalami berbagai gangguan jaringan komputer sehingga pengguna akan kesulitan dalam berkomunikasi antar komputer. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut maka dibuatlah aplikasi diagnosis kegagalan jaringan komputer yang menggunakan metode Dempster Shafer, Metode Dempster-Shafer digunakan di dalam sistem pakar diagnosis gangguan jaringan komputer dengan cara memasukkan permasalahan-permasalahan yang dialami user melalui antarmuka aplikasi lalu diproses oleh metode Dempster-Shafer untuk mengetahui tingkat keyakinan atau kepercayaan dari sebuah gangguan jaringan komputer serta menampilkan cara untuk memperbaiki gangguan tersebut.. Hasil dari sistem pakar ini terbukti sesuai dengan keputusan pakar. Sehingga dengan memasukkan permasalahan kedalam sistem pakar dapat diketahui jenis gangguan berdasarkan nilai kepercayaan (nilai belief) dari perhitungan metode dempster-shafer.

Because the current system at PT. PLN (PERSERO) UPT Cirebon still does not have a system to support decisions in handling problems when experiencing various computer network disruptions so users will have difficulty communicating between computers. To overcome these problems, a computer network failure diagnosis application is made using the Dempster Shafer method, the Dempster-Shafer method is used in an expert system for computer network interference diagnosis by entering the problems experienced by the user through the application interface and then processed by the Dempster-Shafer method for know the level of confidence or trust of a computer network interference and display ways to fix the disorder. The results of this expert system are proven in accordance with the expert's decision. So by entering the problem into the expert system it can be seen the type of disturbance based on the value of belief (belief value) from the calculation of the dempster-shafer method..
