Pasokan listrik memiliki peranan penting dalam kelangsungan dan keamanan operasi di Badan Tenaga Nuklir Nasional (BATAN) di bidang penelitian, pengembangan, dan pemanfaatan tenaga nuklir. Sistem kelistrikan BATAN selalu terkait dengan pelayanan kepada konsumen di BATAN dan terkait dengan keselamatan reaktor nuklir karena listrik di BATAN merupakan fasilitas yang sangat dibutuhkan dan bahkan dalam beberapa titik tidak boleh terputus dari aliran listrik. Maka diperlukanlah suatu sistem penyedia daya darurat yang handal dan mampu menunjang kebutuhan seluruh beban darurat yang ada di dalamnya, dan perlu adanya sistem penyedia daya tak putus (Uninterruptible Power Supply) untuk beban yang tidak boleh putus pasokan listriknya, maka perlu adanya penelitian mengenai sistem penyedia daya tak putus di gedung RSG – G.A.SIWABESSY BATAN untuk mengetahui bagaimana sistem penyedia daya tak putus yang ada di tempat tersebut.

Electric power supply has an important role in a continuos and safety operation in Badan Tenaga Nuklir Nasional (BATAN), especially in a sector of research, development, and utilization of Nuclear Power. Electric power supply system in BATAN always related to the consumer services and related to nuclear reactor safety issue, it is because of electric power supply is the most needed facility and even at a certain point cannot be cut from the supply. Therefore, additional supply system which is reliable and capable to support the electricity system in BATAN is required in case of emergency. One of them is UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), especially for the important loads (cannot be cut from the supply) in BATAN. Hence, it is necessary to make a research about Uninterruptible Power Supply at RSG – G.A.SIWABESSY in BATAN in order to know how the UPS works in there.
