Abstract
Acid rain is defined as all kinds of rain with pH below 5.6. Rain is naturally acidic (pH slightly below 6) due to carbon dioxide (CO2) in the air which dissolves with rain water. In Indonesia there are five cities affected by acid rain include Jakarta, Serpong, Bandung, Kotokabang and Maros. Currently the Ministry of Environment and Forestry has no website that displays the data of acid deposition that causes acid rain in 5 areas. This condition can be fulfilled with Geographic Information System (GIS) which can provide attribute data from a map object along with its spatial data. With the expected technology approach information about acid rain can be conveyed to the wider community with the aim that later can be taken action that can prevent the impact of acid rain.
