Keandalan kapasitas pembangkit didefinisikan sebagai persesuaian antara kapasitas pembangkit yang terpasang terhadap kebutuhan beban. Jika pembebanan melebihi kapasitas beban pembangkit maka akan mengakibatkan hilangnya beban (loss of load) atau kapasitas yang tersedia tidak mampu lagi mengatasi beban yang harus dilayani, yang mengakibatkan sistem menjadi tidak handal. Metoda yang biasa digunakan untuk menentukan indeks keandalan suatu sistem pembangkit adalah dengan metoda LOLP (loss of load probability). Untuk mengetahui tingkat keandalan sistem pembangkitan di Lombok, dalam tulisan ini dibahas mengenai analisa keandalan sistem pembangkit dengan ulasan berupa kinerja operasi, pemeliharaan, nilai probabilitas ketidakmampuan menyuplai beban setiap pembangkit, dan kemungkinan kehilangan beban dengan metode perhitungan LOLP menggunakan FOR unit pembangkit. Namun hanya dibatasi pada pembangkit listrik Thermal.

Reliability of generating capacity is defined as a rapprochement between the installed generation capacity to the load requirements. If the load requirements exceeds the load capacity of the plant, will result in the “loss of load” or available capacity no longer able to cope with the load that must be served, which resulted that the system becomes unreliable. The method used to determine the reliability index of a generation system is LOLP (loss of load probability). To determine the level of reliability of the generation system in Lombok, this paper discuss about the reliability analysis of generation system by reviewing the form of the performance of the operation, maintenance, probability value of each plant's inability to supply the load, and possible loss of load calculation method using LOLP calculation using FOR in each generating units. However, only limited to the Thermal power plant in Lombok's generating system.
