Abstract
Di dalam suatu sistem pembangkit listrik tenaga uap, terdapat sebuah alat yang penting untuk memback up beban – beban penting (essensial) saat terjadi blackout. Alat tersebut adalah Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG), Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG) berfungsi sebagai tenaga cadangan yang berbahan bakar solar. Di PLTU UJP PALABUHANRATU memiliki tiga unit sistem pemasokan listrik dan untuk menjaga kestabilan pemasokan listrik disaat pengoperasian unit maka dari itu disetiap unit nya mempunyai satu Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG). Cara kerjanya menggunakan metode start otomatis dan manual, start otomatis dilakukan dari Central Control Room (CCR) sedangkan start manual dilakukan di ruang unit Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG). Untuk menjaga agar kapasitas Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG) tidak overload jika terjadi blackout atau gangguan diutamakan lah beban – beban penting (essensial). Beban – beban penting (essensial) tersebut dibagi menjadi 2 board yaitu board A dan board B yang dimana mempunyai beban dengan tegangan 400V dan 230V, beberapa diantaranya beban – beban penting (essensial) yang diprioritaskan itu adalah Steam Turbine Jacking Oil Pump Motor, Generator Air Side Seal Oil Pump Motor, Generator Hydrogen Side Seal Oil Pump Motor, dll. Maka dengan adanya studi penggunaan serta pemeliharaan yang tepat pada Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG) akan siap beroperasi tanpa takut terjadi overload disaat blackout.
