Abstract

In an electric power system, there are several elements ranging from the generation, transmission and distribution, in a power plant there is a generator that acts as a means of generating electrical power by means convert mechanical energy into electrical energy generator . The operation is expected to be stable for the performance of the generator optimal. One is more attention to the existing protection system on the generator. The stability of the generator can be affected by several things, namely burden, excitation current, power factor, the number of turns a generator, and so forth. Major changes due to the voltage terminal connected to the load can cause instability generator.

Dalam suatu sistem tenaga listrik terdapat beberapa unsur yaitu mulai dari pembangkitan, transmisi dan distribusi, dalam suatu pembangkit tenaga listrik terdapat sebuah generator yang berperan sebagai alat pembangkit energi listrik dengan cara mengkonversikan energi mekanik menjadi energi listrik. Pengoperasian generator diharapkan stabil agar kinerja generator menjadi optimal. Salah satunya Lebih memperhatikan sistem proteksi yang ada pada generator tersebut. Kestabilan generator dapat dipengaruhi oleh beberapa hal, yaitu beban, arus eksitasi, faktor daya, jumlah putaran generator, dan lain sebagainya. Perubahan besar tegangan terminal akibat dihubungkan ke beban dapat menyebabkan ketidakstabilan generator.
