Abstract
This thesis examines the feasibility of implementing an off-grid Solar Power System (PLTS) as a solution to substitute auxiliary power in the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) unit of the Malinau Coal-Fired Power Plant (2×3 MW). Although the WTP’s contribution to the total auxiliary power consumption is relatively small, it is a critical unit that can be operated independently through renewable energy integration. This study aims to design and simulate an off-grid PLTS capable of partially supplying the WTP's energy demand, while also evaluating its technical and economic feasibility using PVsyst 8.0 software. Simulation results indicate that the 90 kWp PLTS system can generate a significant amount of annual energy, reduce auxiliary load, and meet technical performance parameters with a performance ratio (PR) of 67.9%. The economic analysis also reveals a positive Net Present Value (NPV), an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 10.29%, and a Return on Investment (ROI) of 12.60%, all of which meet investment feasibility criteria. This study demonstrates that integrating an off-grid PLTS system to supply auxiliary loads at the WTP represents a strategic solution to reduce internal power consumption, increase net electricity sales potential, and support a reliable and sustainable energy transition, particularly for small-scale stoker-based coal-fired power units.
Tesis ini mengkaji kelayakan pemasangan sistem Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya (PLTS) off-grid sebagai solusi untuk substitusi daya pemakaian sendiri (auxiliary power) pada unit Water Treatment Plant (WTP) di PLTU Malinau 2×3 MW. Meskipun kontribusi konsumsi daya WTP terhadap total pemakaian sendiri PLTU tergolong kecil, WTP merupakan unit vital yang dapat dioperasikan secara mandiri melalui pemanfaatan energi terbarukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mensimulasikan sistem PLTS off-grid yang mampu menyuplai sebagian kebutuhan daya WTP secara independen, serta mengevaluasi kelayakan teknis dan ekonominya menggunakan perangkat lunak PVsyst 8.0. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa sistem PLTS dengan kapasitas 90 kWp mampu menghasilkan energi tahunan yang signifikan, menurunkan beban auxiliary, serta memenuhi parameter performa teknis dengan nilai performance ratio (PR) sebesar 67,9%. Analisis ekonomi juga menunjukkan nilai Net Present Value (NPV) yang positif, Internal Rate of Return (IRR) sebesar 10,29%, dan Return on Investment (ROI) sebesar 12,60%, yang memenuhi kriteria kelayakan investasi. Studi ini membuktikan bahwa integrasi PLTS off-grid untuk beban auxiliary WTP dapat menjadi solusi strategis dalam menurunkan konsumsi internal PLTU, meningkatkan potensi penjualan daya bersih, serta mendorong transisi energi yang berkelanjutan dan andal, khususnya untuk unit PLTU berbasis stokar skala kecil.
