Abstract
PT PLN (Persero) currently has its first hydrogen refueling station (HRS) in Indonesia as a pilot project, demonstrating PLN's commitment to a more environmentally friendly energy transition. Most countries are now considering hydrogen utilization as a means to achieve net-zero emission (NZE) targets between 2040 and 2070. PLN has a hydrogen production potential of approximately 199 tons per year, with one of the projected uses of hydrogen being in the transportation sector. Land limitations are a key issue related to the land projection for providing hydrogen fueling stations/HRS, as PLN only has limited space for electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS). If new land is used or leased to build HRS, this would increase investment costs and impact the hydrogen supply costs. Based on the results of physical scenario simulations, it was found that jet flames and overpressure pose risks that could cause injuries, fires, and even fatalities. The quantitative risk assessment (QRA) results showed an average individual risk (AIR) value of 1,421×10-7, indicating that the hybrid HRS can be categorized as safe.
