Abstract
The utilization of wind energy as a renewable electricity source in Sukabumi Regency holds significant potential but has yet to be optimally developed. This study aims to assess the feasibility of developing a Wind Power Plant (PLTB) through a comprehensive approach encompassing wind potential analysis, technical feasibility, and financial evaluation. Five large-scale wind turbine types were analyzed: Siemens SWT-3.6-130, Vestas V100-2.0 MW, GE Renewable Energy 6.6 MW, Goldwind GWH252-10 MW, and Windey WD236-8.5 MW. Historical wind speed data were analyzed using the two-parameter Weibull distribution to obtain shape (k) and scale (λ) parameters, which were then used to calculate Annual Energy Production (AEP) and Capacity Factor (CF). The technical assessment was carried out by comparing each turbine’s energy output and efficiency, while the financial feasibility was evaluated using four main indicators: Net Present Value (NPV), Benefit-Cost Ratio (BCR), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Payback Period (PP). The results indicate that the Windey WD236-8.5 MW turbine delivers the best overall performance, with the highest NPV, an IRR of 9,63%, a BCR of 3,59, and a payback period of 25 years. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the development of a PLTB project in Sukabumi is feasible, with turbine technology selection adapted to local wind potential and investment efficiency
