Abstract

Electric motors are a vital component in supporting industrial processes, including at the Pertamina EP Jatibarang Field SPU KHT. The problems that often arise are overcurrent and over/undervoltage disturbances that can cause damage to three-phase induction motors, shorten the life of winding insulation, and increase maintenance costs. Conventional protection systems are generally not equipped with monitoring and data storage features, making it difficult for operators to detect and analyze disturbances quickly and accurately. This research aims to design an Arduino-based electric motor protection system innovation by utilizing current sensors and voltage sensors that are integrated with breaker relays. This system is designed to detect power outages in real-time, store data, and provide automatic protection measures for induction motors. The test results show that the Arduino-based protection system is capable of working with an adequate level of accuracy, with a relatively fast relay response time in the event of an outage. Thus, the implementation of this innovation has the potential to increase the reliability of electric motorcycles while reducing maintenance costs at the Pertamina EP Jatibarang Field KHT SPU.
