Bed material pada furnace di PLTU 3 Bengakayang unit 1 mengalami kenaikan
temperatur yang terlalu tinggi.. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa
dan mengkaji naiknya temperatur bed material diatas suhu normal yang menyebabkan
efisiensi PLTU menurun. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian
studi kasus dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Dari hasil penelitian, penyebab naiknya
temperatur bed material adalah batu bara yang terlalu besar, terdapat material asing
dan slagging serta tersumbatnya nozzle. Naiknya temperatue bed mengakibatkan
naiknya temperature gas buang (flue gas) yang menyebabnya turunnya efisiensi dari
boiler. Saran yang diberikan adalah dengan pemantauan rutin pada bagian Coal
Handling dan memodifikasi nozzle sesuai keadaan operasi.

Bed material in the furnace at PLTU 3 Bengakayang unit 1 experienced a temperature
increase that was too high. The purpose of this study is to analyze and examine the
increase in the temperature of the bed material above the normal temperature which
causes the efficiency of the power plant to decrease. The research method used is a case
study research method with a quantitative approach. From the results of the study, the
cause of the increase in the temperature of the bed material is coal that is too large, there are foreign materials and slagging and clogged nozzle. The increase in temperature bed
results in an increase in flue gas temperature which causes a decrease in the efficiency
of the boiler. The advice given is to routinely monitor the Coal Handling section and
modify the nozzle according to operating conditions.
