Abstract

The ever-increasing demand for electricity, driven by global economic growth and population expansion, has posed significant challenges to the availability of energy resources. The majority of energy currently used in Indonesia is fossil fuel-based. To address this issue, one solution is to utilize renewable energy sources, such as solar power plants. However, these plants are highly influenced by environmental factors such as solar radiation and ambient temperature. In this context, it is necessary to examine how solar radiation and ambient temperature affect the electricity production generated by solar power plants. This study was conducted using SPSS software to describe the correlation between variables, AHP to determine the weight of each variable, and GIS software to visualize the general location of solar power plants. Solar radiation significantly influences electricity production, showing a strong to very strong and statistically significant correlation in the study, from correlation values to random forest values, with an AHP weight of 0.83333. Ambient temperature has a statistical influence, but this can be affected by a third factor or the dominant effect of solar radiation, with an AHP weight of 0.16667. The optimal conditions for solar power plants are at high elevations, far from trees, far from roads, and near river flows.
