TPA Talang Gulo yang dibangun pada tahun 1997 dengan metode open dumping hampir mengalami overload sehingga Pemerintah Kota Jambi merencanakan perluasan area TPA Talang Gulo dengan metode sanitary landfill yang dilengkapi dengan proses sorting dan composting. Dilakukan analisis umur pakai landfill cell TPA Sanitary Landfill Talang Gulo Kota Jambi dengan perbandingan jumlah reduksi menurut Tchobanoglous, Theisen dan Vigil (1993) dan reduksi menurut rencana Pemerintah Kota Jambi. Selain menampung sampah landfill cell juga menampung lindi, sehingga dilakukan perhitungan prediksi prediksi timbulan lindi. Berdasarkan analisis yang dilakukan untuk mendapatkan umur pakai TPA Sanitary Landfill Talang Gulo Kota Jambi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa volume tampungan landfill cell adalah sebesar 440.012,5 m3. Diperoleh selisih umur pakai antara kedua metode reduksi adalah selama 82 tahun. Dilakukan perhtungan prediksi timbulan lindi dengan metode Thorntwaite. Diperoleh nilai perkolasi harian sebesar 0,55 mm/hari dan debit lindi harian perluasan sebesar 28,76 m3/hari.
