Proses klasifikasi buku di Perpustakaan Badan Pengusahaan Batam masih dilakukan secara konvensional dimana proses klasifikasi dilakukan berdasarkan pengetahuan petugas dari hasil membaca dan memahami buku. Proses ini menimbulkan berbagai masalah seperti kesalahan dalam menentukan
kategori yang tepat, perbedaan kategori terhadap judul buku yang sama yang dikelola oleh petugas yang berbeda dan membutuhkan waktu yang lama untuk menentukan kategori yang tepat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah membuat aplikasi klasifikasi buku dengan mengimplementasikan metode Naïve Bayes Classifier dimana metode digunakan untuk mendapatkan hasil pengklasifikasian buku yang tepat berdasarkan kategori atau class yang telah ditentukan oleh petugas perpustakaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Waterfall untuk
pengembangan perangkat lunak, Unified Modeling Language (UML) untuk perancangan aplikasi, Black Box Testing untuk pengujian aplikasi, MySQL untuk perancangan basis data, metode Naïve Bayes Classifier untuk pengolahan data
dan dalam hal implementasi aplikasi menggunakan desktop. Hasil pengujian pada penelitian ini menunjukkan akurasi sebesar 94%. Dari hasil pengujian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa aplikasi ini dapat mengklasifikasi buku dengan
baik dan membantu pihak perpustakaan dalam melakukan proses
pengklasifikasian koleksi buku.

The book classification process at the library of Badan Pengusahaan Batam is still done conventionally where the classification process is done based on the employee’s knowledge from reading and understanding the books. This
process causes various problems such as errors in assigning the right category, the category differences from books with the same title that are managed by different employees needs a long time to assign it in the right category. The purpose of this research is to make a book classification
application by implementing Naïve Bayes Classifier method where the method is used to get the results of the classification of books according to the categories or classes that have been determined by the librarian. This research uses the Waterfall method for software development, Unified Modeling Language (UML) for application design, Black Box Testing for application testing, MySQL for database design, Naïve Bayes Classifier method for data
processing and using desktop in terms of application implementation. The test results in this research showed an accuracy of 94%. From the test results it can be concluded that this application can classify books well and help the
librarian in the process of classifying the book collections
