Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh overhaul terhadap kinerja High Pressure Heater (HPH) pada PLTU Banten 2 Labuan, serta hubungan antara nilai Log Mean Temperature Difference (LMTD) dengan kinerja HPH. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan bahwa overhaul memiliki dampak positif yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan kinerja HPH. Setelah dilakukan overhaul, efisiensi operasional HPH meningkat, yang ditunjukkan oleh kemampuan unit untuk beroperasi secara optimal padaberbagai beban. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa overhaul berhasil memperbaiki dan memulihkan performa aktual HPH, memungkinkan unit untuk bekerja dengan lebih baik dan stabil. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga mengungkapkan adanya korelasi langsung antara nilai LMTD dan kinerja HPH. Peningkatan nilai LMTD berbanding lurus dengan peningkatan kinerja HPH, sementara penurunan nilai LMTD mencerminkan penurunan efisiensi perpindahan panas, yang berdampak negatif pada kinerja keseluruhan HPH. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pemeliharaan rutin melalui overhaul dan monitoring nilai LMTD untuk memastikan kinerja optimal HPH di PLTU.

This study aims to examine the effect of overhaul on the performance of the High Pressure Heater (HPH) at PLTU Banten 2 Labuan, as well as the relationship between the Log Mean Temperature Difference (LMTD) value and HPH performance. Based on the research results, it was found that overhaul has a significant positive impact on improving HPH performance. After the overhaul, the operational efficiency of the HPH increased, as indicated by the ability of the unit to operate optimally at various loads. This indicates that the overhaul successfully repaired and restored the HPH's actual performance, allowing the unit to perform better and more stably. In addition, this study also revealed a direct correlation between LMTD values and HPH performance. An increase in LMTD values is directly proportional to an increase in HPH performance, while a decrease in LMTD values reflects a decrease in heat transfer efficiency, which negatively impacts the overall performance of the HPH. These findings emphasize the importance of regular maintenance through overhaul and monitoring of LMTD values to ensure optimal performance of HPHs in power plants.
