Abstract

As part of the temperature and pressure control system in a boiler or furnace, the Induced Draft Fan (IDF) is an important component to maintain safe and efficient operation. High vibrations in the Tanjung Balai Karimun PLTU IDF unit 1 do not cause a direct trip to the unit, however if it is not handled there will be more serious damage to the equipment and the PLTU unit cannot be operated consIDering that the IDF only has one piece of equipment for one boiler. One of the causes of high vibration in the IDF is bearing damage. Damage to Bearings often occurs quickly and causes equipment breakdown. To find out and anticipate the cause of the damage, it is necessary to collect vibration data from the bearing using a vibration measuring device so that preventive action can be taken.
