PLTU merupakan salah satu jenis pembangkita listrik yang tidak lepas dari yang namanya pembakaran. Pada proses pembakaran, udara adalah salah satu elemen wajib yang
harus ada. Sebelum terjadi proses pembakaran, udara terlebih dahulu dipanaskan di AIR HEATER. Pemanasan udara pada AIR HEATER memanfaatkan panas dari gas buang yang dipindahkan ke udara bakar dengan jenis perpindahan panas konveksi. Dalam perpindahan panas ini harus dijaga nilai efektifitasnya, efektifitas AIR HEATER adalah suatu ukuran keefektifan unjuk kerja AIR HEATER yang ditunjukkan dari perbandingan panas masuk dengan panas yang keluar pada AIR HEATER, nilai efektifitas ini dipengaruhi oleh AIR LEAKAGE pada AIR HEATER. Dalam TUGAS AKHIR ini akan membahas pengaruh air
lekage terhadapa efektifitas AIR HEATER. Perhitungan yang dilakukan untuk menghitung efektifitas AIR HEATER menggunakan metode input output dan heat balance, dimana hasil yang didapat terjadi hubungan berbanding terbalik antara AIR LEAKAGE dengan efektivitas.

PLTU is one type of electricity generation that can not be separated from the name of combustion. In the combustion process, air is one of the mandatory elements that must be present. Before the combustion process occurs, the air is first heated in the AIR HEATER. Air heating in the AIR HEATER utilizes heat from the exhaust gases which is transferred to the combustion air by the type of convection heat transfer. In this heat transfer, the effectiveness of the water heater must be maintained, the effectiveness of the AIR HEATER is a measure of the effectiveness for the work of the water heater, which is indicated by the ratio of the incoming heat to the outgoing heat of the AIR HEATER, this effectiveness value is influenced by water leakage in the AIR HEATER. In this thesis will discuss the effect of water lekage on the effectiveness of the water heater. Calculations are carried out to calculate the effectiveness of the AIR HEATER using the input output and heat balance methods, where the results obtained have an inverse relationship between water leakage and effectiveness.
