Abstract
Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh heat treatment pada proses quenching terhadap struktur mikro material Coil CRSS (Cold Rolled Steel Sheet) dengan ketebalan 1,6 mm yang digunakan untuk fire door. Heat treatment, metode penting dalam industri manufaktur, bertujuan meningkatkan sifat mekanik dan ketahanan material. Material Coil CRSS mengalami austenitisasi pada berbagai suhu dan waktu sebelum dilakukan quenching cepat dengan media air. Perubahan struktur mikro dianalisis menggunakan mikroskop optik, dan uji kekerasan dilakukan untuk mengukur peningkatan sifat mekanik material. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa quenching menghasilkan perubahan signifikan dalam struktur mikro, terutama pembentukan fasa martensit yang lebih keras dibandingkan struktur awal. Peningkatan suhu austenitisasi dan waktu tahan
berkontribusi pada peningkatan kekerasan, meskipun dapat mengurangi
ketangguhan. Kesimpulannya, heat treatment dan quenching secara signifikan meningkatkan sifat mekanik Coil CRSS, menjadikannya lebih cocok sebagai bahan baku fire door yang memerlukan kekuatan dan ketahanan tinggi. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan optimalisasi parameter heat treatment untuk mencapai keseimbangan ideal antara kekerasan dan ketangguhan material.
This study analyzes the effects of heat treatment on the quenching process and its impact on the microstructure of Coil CRSS (Cold Rolled Steel Sheet) material with a thickness of 1.6 mm, used for fire doors. Heat treatment, an important method in the manufacturing industry, aims to enhance the mechanical properties and durability of materials. The Coil CRSS material underwent austenitization at various temperatures and times before being rapidly quenched in water. Microstructural changes were analyzed using optical microscopy, and hardness tests were conducted to measure improvements in the material's mechanical properties. The results indicate that quenching leads to significant changes in the microstructure, particularly the formation of a harder martensitic phase compared to the initial structure. Increases in austenitization temperature and holding time contribute to greater hardness, although this may reduce toughness. In conclusion, heat treatment and quenching significantly enhance the mechanical properties of Coil CRSS, making it more suitable as a fire door raw material requiring high strength and durability. The study recommends optimizing heat treatment parameters to achieve an ideal balance between hardness and toughness.
