Abstract
At PT PLN (Persero) ULP Kepahiang there is a distribution transformer BD0024 which has a load percentage of >80%. In accordance with Circular Letter 0017.E / DIR / 2014, the transformer is categorized as an overload transformer because the percentage is> 80%. The length of the low voltage network (JTR) of one of the majors in the transformer has a length of about 850 meters and there is the potential for additional customers.Motode used in this research is to use quantitative methods, namely by adding a new transformer. The results obtained by doing the calculation obtained the percentage of the BD0024 distribution transformer load which was previously 95.92% dropped to 58.96, % while the original power loss / shrinkage of 5.73% dropped to 2.04% so that the problem of transformer overload can be resolved and the potential for additional customers can be served.
