Abstract

Condenser Vacuum Pump (CVP) pada PLTGU dilengkapi dengan Seal Water Cooler untuk menjaga suhu air segel agar tetap optimal. Namun,efektivitas perpindahan panas pada Seal Water Cooler dapat menurun akibat fouling yang menyebabkan penumpukan kotoran pada pelat penukar panas. Penurunan efektivitas ini berpotensi mengurangi kinerja pompa vakum dan mempengaruhi tekanan vakum kondensor. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan overhaul secara berkala untuk membersihkan serta memeriksa kondisi komponen guna memastikan kinerja optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh overhaul terhadap efektivitas Seal Water Cooler pada Condenser Vacuum Pump unit ST 2.1 di PLTGU Blok II UP Muara Karang. Efektivitas perpindahan panas dianalisis menggunakan metode Log Mean Temperature Difference (LMTD) dan pendekatan efektivitas langsung. Penelitian membandingkan data operasional dengan variasi beban 48 MW, 54 MW, dan 60 MW unit ST 2.1 sebelum overhaul dengan data operasi sesudah overhaul. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan efektivitas seal water cooler. Pada beban 48 MW efektivitas meningkat dari 0,584 menjadi 0,750. Pada pengujian beban 54 MW efektivitas meningkat dari 0,531 menjadi 0,786. Pada beban 60 MW, efektivitas dari 0,584 menjadi 0,733. Peningkatan ini menunjukkan bahwa pembersihan plate dan penggantian plate pada saat overhaul berhasil meningkatkan efektivitas seal water cooler.

The Condenser Vacuum Pump (CVP) in PLTGU is equipped with a Seal Water Cooler to maintain an optimal seal water temperature. However, the effectiveness of heat transfer in the Seal Water Cooler can decrease due to fouling which causes a buildup of dirt on the heat exchanger plates. This decrease in effectiveness has the potential to reduce the performance of the vacuum pump and affect the vacuum pressure of the condenser. Therefore, periodic overhauls are required to clean and check the condition of the components to ensure optimal performance. This research aims to analyze the effect of overhaul on the effectiveness of the Water Cooler Seal on the Condenser Vacuum Pump unit ST 2.1 at PLTGU Block II UP Muara Karang. Heat transfer effectiveness was analyzed using the Log Mean Temperature Difference (LMTD) method and a direct effectiveness approach. The study compared operational data with load variations of 48 MW, 54 MW, and 60 MW of ST 2.1 unit before overhaul with operating data after overhaul. The results showed an increase in the effectiveness of the water cooler seal. At 48 MW load the effectiveness increased from 0.584 to 0.750. At 54 MW load testing, the effectiveness increased from 0.531 to 0.786. At 60 MW load, the effectiveness increased from 0.584 to 0.733. This increase shows that plate cleaning and plate replacement during overhaul successfully increased the effectiveness of the seal water cooler.
