Abstract

Sebagai salah satu sub sistem penyaluran tenaga listrik dari pusat pembangkit ke konsumen, gardu induk memiliki peranan penting untuk menaikkan tegangan dari pusat pembangkit dan menurunkan tegangan dari saluran transmisi menuju ke konsumen. GI Ancol yang merupakan GI penguhubung antar gardu induk lain dalam satu wilayah harus dijaga keandalannya agar tidak terjadi gangguan yang berdampak pemadaman pada konsumen. Transformator pada gardu induk konvensional dipasang di switchyard, sehingga rawan terhadap gangguan petir. Untuk melindungi transformator terhadap surja petir perlu digunakan lightning arrester. Pemasangan lightning arrester pada trafo di gardu induk ini perlu memperhatikan beberapa hal, antara lain BIL (Basic Insulation Level) dari trafo dan jarak arrester itu sendiri. Berdasarkan SPLN 7:1978 jarak maksimum arrester terhadap transformator daya untuk tegangan pengenal 150kV tidak boleh melebihi 80m. Sedangkan menurut perhitungan jarak maksimum dan keadaan di lapangan jarak arrester terhadap transformator daya adalah 45m dan 3,35m. Nilai jarak yang didapatkan di lapangan ini sudah memenuhi batas jarak maksimum perlindungan baik berdasarkan perhitungan maupun standar yang berlaku. Sehingga perlindungan transformator daya terhadap gangguan surja petir sudah baik.

As one of electrical power transmission sub systems from power plant to consumers, substation has an important role which is to elevate voltage from power plant and then proceed to drop voltage from transmission line to the consumers. Ancol substation, a connecting substation inter-substations within the area has reliability value that must be maintained so that faults likely causing electrical outage on the consumers do not occur. Transformer on a conventional substation is installed on the Switchyard, therefore it is susceptible to lightning strike. To protect transformer against lightning surge, lightning arrester is used. Installation of lightning arrester on the substation transformer has to regards several matters, among which are BIL (Basic Insulation Level) from transformer and arrester placement distance itself. According to SPLN 7:1978 the maximum distance between lightning arrester and power transformer for arrester with 150 kV rated voltage is less than 80m. While according to the calculation and the condition in switchyard,the distance betweeen arrester and power transformer are 45m and 3m. Corresponding with protection standards, so the power transformer protection against lightning surge fault is exceptional.
